If you are paying any attention to the national collegiate baseball scene, it is hard to not know what West Virginia is doing right now. The Mountaineers are 39-13 on the season and are 15-6 in conference play.

In addition, their 15 wins are the most they have achieved during Big 12 play in a season, they are one win shy of tying the program record for wins in a season at 40. The Mountaineers are also one win away from clinching the Big 12 Regular Season Championship.

With that success has come historic rankings, creeping closer to the top 10. On Monday, after a series win over Texas Tech, that history mark was achieved as the Mountaineers are ranked inside the top 10 for the first time ever.

Baseball America moved West Virginia up four spots to No. 7 in the country after a 3-1 week. Baseball America had Texas Tech ranked No. 15 in the country prior to the series this past weekend. Baseball America has Oklahoma State ranked No. 18 as the only other Big 12 school in the rankings.

D1Baseball has the Mountaineers ranked sixth in the country, jumping six spots from No. 12 in the country last week. The Mountaineers are one of two Big 12 teams ranked by D1Baseball, with Oklahoma State coming in at No. 25.

West Virginia plays three games this week on the road against Texas with the series starting on Thursday.
