West Virginia women’s basketball announces non-conference schedule

West Virginia women’s basketball announced their 2024 non-conference slate, which includes regionalized matchups as well as a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“Our team has been working hard on and off the court throughout the summer to prepare for this season,” WVU head coach Mark Kellogg said. “We are excited to bolster an out-of-conference schedule that will allow us to compete in front of our fans inside the WVU Coliseum seven times.

“We have worked hard to finalize our slate of contests that will best prepare us for Big 12 play later in the season. We are looking forward to playing some regional rivals in Pittsburgh and Penn State and this entire non-conference schedule will allow us to grow and mature as a team.”

WVU opens their season against Loyola (Md.) on Nov. 7, before traveling to face Pitt on Nov. 11. The Mountaineers return home on Nov. 19, against Youngstown State.

The Mountaineers then travel to Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout between Nov. 23-25, against George Washington, Charlotte, and Southern Illinois.

The Mountaineers turn the calendar to December by hosting five games over the next month.

It starts with St. Bonaventure on Dec. 2, then two days later they host Penn State on Dec. 4. The Mountaineers host Delaware State on Dec. 10, before hosting Wright State on Dec. 18. WVU’s final non-conference game is on Dec. 21 against Niagara.
