West Virginia women’s soccer welcomed Oklahoma State this afternoon at Dick Dlesk Stadium, edging them in a close 1-0 victory. 

Both teams had shot opportunities early in the first half. In the sixth minute, West Virginia junior forward Dilary Heredia-Beltran had her shot saved by Oklahoma State senior goalkeeper Grace Gordon.

The teams played scoreless until the second half while trading saves throughout the first 45 minutes.

West Virginia sophomore forward Taylor White broke through for the Mountaineers with a goal off an AJ Rodriguez pass in the 67th minute. The Mountaineers held the lead closed out the one-goal victory. This is White’s third’s consecutive match with a goal and her eighth goal of the season.

The Mountaineers improved to 5-7-3 and will be back in action on the road against Kansas State on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. streaming on ESPN+.
