The month of April is now upon us and the Big 12 has been solid in baseball up to this point.

In the latest D1 Baseball rankings, the Big 12 is represented by UCF at 25th.

As of games through April 1, 11 out of the 13 teams have a winning record, with Baylor and BYU being the only two teams with losing records.

Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the past week. This list is sorted alphabetically.

Baylor (10-17, 5-7 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Baylor lost a single home game against UTSA 9-7. Baylor led 7-5 at one point but allowed four unanswered runs to lose it.

This past weekend, Baylor hosted a three-game series against Cincinnati. They won the series 2-1, losing 8-3 then winning 8-6 and 9-2.

Up next for Baylor is a single home game against HCU later today. After that is a three-game home series against Incarnate Word starting on Friday.

BYU (11-14, 4-8 Big 12)

This past weekend, BYU hosted a three-game series against Kansas. They got swept 11-1, 4-3, and 8-5.

Up next for BYU is a three-game road series against Texas starting on Thursday. After that is a single road game against Utah next Tuesday.

Cincinnati (16-13, 4-5 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Cincinnati lost a single road game against Louisville 11-5. The game was tied 5-5 after three innings but Louisville scored six unanswered runs to win it.

This past weekend, Cincinnati played a three-game road series against Baylor. They lost the series 2-1, winning 8-3 then losing 8-6 and 9-2.

Cincinnati was slated to have the Joe Nuxhall Classic against Xavier later today but that was postponed due to inclement weather. Up next for Cincinnati is a three-game home series against TCU starting on Friday.

Houston (15-12, 4-8 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Houston won a single home game against Lamar 6-4. The win snapped the nation’s longest active winning streak for Lamar at the time.

This past weekend, Houston played a three-game road series against TCU. They got swept 14-1, 6-2, and 6-4.

Up next for Houston is a single home game against Rice later today. After that is a three-game road series against Texas Tech starting on Friday.

Kansas (15-10, 7-5 Big 12)

This past weekend, Kansas played a three-game road series against BYU. They swept the series 11-1, 4-3, and 8-5.

Up next for Kansas is a single road game against Wichita State tomorrow. After that is a three-game home series against West Virginia starting on Friday.

Kansas State (18-8, 6-3 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Kansas State was slated to have a single home game against Nebraska, but that was canceled due to weather.

This past weekend, Kansas State played a three-game home series against Texas. They lost the series 2-1, winning 14-6 then losing 21-11 and 6-3.

Up next for Kansas State is a single road game against Missouri State tomorrow. After that is a three-game road series against No. 25 UCF starting on Friday.

Oklahoma (15-12, 7-2 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Oklahoma won a single home game against Oral Roberts 10-0 in seven innings. Oklahoma allowed just two hits in the shutout win.

This past weekend, Oklahoma hosted a three-game series against Lamar. They got swept 12-10, 13-8, and 6-3.

Oklahoma State (18-10, 5-4 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Oklahoma State won a single road game against Wichita State 3-0. Oklahoma State was outhit by Wichita State but still kept them off the scoreboard.

This past weekend, Oklahoma State played a three-game road series against West Virginia. They won the series 2-1, winning 2-1 and 10-1 in 11 innings, then losing 15-10.

TCU (20-7, 5-7 Big 12)

Texas (17-11, 6-3 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Texas lost a single home game against A&M-Corpus Christi 4-1. Texas never recovered from giving up a three-run homer in the second inning and avoided a shutout with a run in the eighth.

This past weekend, Texas played a three-game road series against No. 23 Kansas State. They won the series 2-1, losing 14-6 then winning 21-11 and 6-3.

Texas Tech (20-9, 5-7 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, Texas Tech won a single home game against Stephen F. Austin 16-4 in 8 innings. Texas Tech had two three-run homers in the blowout win.

This past weekend, Texas Tech played a three-game road series against UCF. They lost the series 2-1, losing 5-4 and 2-1 then winning 3-2.

Texas Tech won game one of a two-game home series against Stanford yesterday 10-9 and game two is set for later today. After that is a three-game home series against Houston starting on Friday.

No. 25 UCF (18-7, 6-6 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, UCF won a single road game against Jacksonville 6-0. UCF only allowed one hit in the shoutout win.

This past weekend, UCF hosted a three-game series against Texas Tech. They won the series 2-1, winning 5-4 and 2-1 then losing 3-2.

Up next for UCF is a single road game against Bethune-Cookman later today, followed by a single home game against North Florida tomorrow. After that is a three-game home series against Kansas State starting on Friday.

West Virginia (16-12, 5-4 Big 12)

Last Tuesday, West Virginia won a single home game against Akron 6-2. West Virginia recorded 13 hits in the win.

This past weekend, West Virginia hosted a three-game series against Oklahoma State. They lost the series 2-1, losing 2-1 and 10-1 in 11 innings then winning 15-10.
