MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 15, 2024) – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, along with the Big 12 Conference, has announced the 2024 women’s soccer schedule.

The Mountaineers’ 2024 slate features 11 home matches at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, including five Big 12 Conference contests. WVU will face three of four league newcomers as Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah join the conference this season. In the teams’ inaugural season in the Big 12, West Virginia will face Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado.

Additionally, WVU’s nonconference schedule features a pair of foes who advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, including a College Cup participant in Clemson.

The 2024 campaign officially kicks off at home against first-time opponent Delaware on Thursday, Aug. 15. WVU then remains home to play host to Radford on Sunday, Aug. 18, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. 

West Virginia hits the road for back-to-back contests, first traveling to Clemson, South Carolina, to battle the Tigers on Thursday, Aug. 22. After a week off, the Mountaineers head to University Park, Pa., for a match against Penn State on Thursday, Aug. 29.

A three-game homestand concludes WVU’s nonconference slate, as it first welcomes Robert Morris to Morgantown on Sunday, Sept. 2. JMU comes to town on Thursday, Sept. 5, before the home stretch and nonconference schedule wraps up against Liberty on Sunday, Sept. 8.

WVU opens Big 12 Conference competition in Cincinnati, Ohio, against the Bearcats on Thursday, Sept. 12. The Mountaineers will enjoy a week off, before welcoming Kansas State to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 19. The weekend concludes against with a match against Kansas on Sunday, Sept. 22.

West Virginia then prepares for its first-ever trip to Arizona to match up against league newcomers Arizona and Arizona State. The Mountaineers begin the trip in Tempe, taking on the Sun Devils on Thursday, Sept. 26. The road trip wraps up against the Wildcats on Sunday, Sept. 29, in Tucson.

The following week, WVU returns to Morgantown for a matchup with UCF on Friday, Oct. 4. The squad then heads back on the road for a two-match swing through Texas. First up, West Virginia takes on TCU in Fort Worth on Thursday, Oct. 10. The Mountaineers then head to Waco for a contest against Baylor on Sunday, Oct. 13.

WVU’s home slate wraps up with a pair of matches at DDSS, first against Texas Tech on Thursday, Oct. 17. The squad’s final home match of the year will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20, as West Virginia faces conference newcomer Colorado for the first time in program history.

The 2024 regular season concludes in Houston, Texas, as WVU meets Houston on Friday, Oct. 25.

The 2024 Sprouts Farmer’s Market Big 12 Soccer Championship officially begins on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at its new host site CPKC Stadium, the home of the NWSL’s KC Current in Kansas City, Missouri. This year’s tournament will feature a new format, as 12 teams will vie for the 2024 crown in a single-elimination bracket.
