Former WVU point guard Miles McBride has had a break-out season with the New York Knicks, and he may get an award to go with it.
The NBA opened its annual Fan Favorites award voting this weekend, and former Mountaineer and Knicks back-up point guard Miles McBride is on the ballot.
McBride was nominated for Handle of the Year for a dribble move he used in Cleveland this March. McBride came off the bench for 47 minutes in that game after All Star Jalen Brunson went down to injury. New York won the game 107-98, and McBride scored 16 points and shot four-for-nine from three.
In the clip, McBride does an inside-out dribble with his right hand just behind and to the right of the free throw line. The move causes 6’11” forward Evan Mobley to fall to his knees before McBride went in to finish the layup. Mobley finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season.

It’s great to see Miles McBride getting recognition for his impressive skills on the court! His nomination for Handle of the Year is well-deserved, especially after that incredible move against Evan Mobley. I’m excited to see how his career progresses, especially if he continues to deliver performances like this.
