West Virginia will have to wait a bit longer for its third ever matchup against the Bluejays.
Sources discovered today that Creighton’s men’s basketball team has entered the Players Era NIL event in Las Vegas, and with that, it will no longer be competing in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
The Vegas event will be part of November’s Players Era Festival, which will star live music, attractions, and now college basketball. The tournament will include $1 million in NIL prize money for the winning team.
West Virginia announced its participation in the Battle 4 Atlantis event in August after Creighton had already joined. The Bahamas tournament will still take place with eight competing teams, given that the current participants can find the Bluejays’ replacement.

It’s really intriguing to see Creighton opt for the Players Era NIL event in Las Vegas over the Battle 4 Atlantis. It seems like the allure of live music, attractions, and the significant NIL prize money was too good to pass up. This move might shake things up for future college basketball events, showing a clear tilt towards more entertainment-oriented experiences. I’m curious to see how West Virginia and the remaining teams adapt to this change and who will replace Creighton in the Bahamas tournament.
