Jesse Edwards has officially been invited to participate in the NBA draft combine. Originally participating in the G League Combine, Edward’s skill opened the eyes of many and earned him the call-up.
At 6-foot-11, Edwards offers a length and athleticism that can be unique to NBA scouts. In his lone season as a Mountaineer, Edwards averaged a career high 15 points per game, to go with eight rebounds and just under two blocks per game. The Netherlands native was sidelined for nine games in the middle of the season with a hand injury.
Edwards spent four seasons prior to West Virginia playing at Syracuse in a 2-3 zone defensively. In his final game at home for West Virginia, Edwards put up a historic performance of 36 points on 15 of 19 shooting, 13 rebounds, and two blocks.
The NBA combine runs from Sunday, May 12 through Sunday, May 19 and can be streamed on ESPN+. The draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 27.
