Former Washington State guard Joseph Yesufu has announced his decision to transfer to West Virginia on Sunday evening, per social media.

The 6-foot senior from Illinois is no stranger to new Mountaineer head coach Darian DeVries. Yesufu was recruited to Drake out of high school and spent his first two seasons playing for the Bulldogs before transferring to Kansas.

In his sophomore year, Yesufu averaged a career high 12.8 points per game and made seven starts under DeVries. In the NCAA tournament that same season, he made six threes in path to scoring a game high 26 points against USC. He was also Mountain Valley Conference 6th Man of the Year.

Kansas and Bill Self was the next destination for Yesufu, spending two seasons as a Jayhawk in the Big 12. Appearing in 69 games and making three starts during his time there, the new Mountaineer averaged 3.1 points and 1.2 rebounds.

Last season at Washington State, Yesufu was sidelined for all but six games due to a hip injury. He averaged 6.2 points, two rebounds, and 1.8 assists in the time.

West Virginia will be the fourth team for Yesufu who will be 24 years old when next season begins. He will be rejoining his original head coach, DeVries, in Morgantown.
