After making the St. Louis Cardinals’ opening day roster, WVU baseball alum, Victor Scott II, has now appeared in 20 games this season.

For what has been a slow start to the year so far for Scott, the outfielder has had a couple impressive games this season, including one in the first series of the year against the Los Angeles Dodgers.Back on March 31, the centerfielder went 2-3 at the plate with two runs, a double, and a walk.

His play in the outfield as a defenseman has been great this season. With 42 total chances in the field, Scott has only committed one error and has a .976 fielding percentage.

While the hitting numbers on the season do not look great for Scott batting a .085 average with 6 runs and 3 rbi, the former Mountaineer has been a reliable sacrifice bunt player all year.

The Cardinals are 18-24 on the season and currently sit in fourth place of the NL Central. They will go for the series sweep against the Angles on Wednesday before traveling back home to start a three game set against Boston on Friday.
