The Indiana Pacers have defeated the New York Knicks in game seven of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday by a score of 130-109, resulting in former WVU guard Deuce McBride and the Knicks season ending.
The Knicks came into the NBA playoffs as the two-seed in the East and defeated the seven-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first round. McBride scored eight points in game seven of the series against the Pacers, but 20 points in game six and 17 in game five while starting.
New York was debilitated by injuries and unable to keep up with Indiana’s tempo. The Pacers set an NBA playoff record with their strong shooting performance, as they shot just over 67% from the field and 54% from three.
Indiana will take on the Joe Mazzulla-coached Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals beginning on Tuesday with tip-off set for 8 p.m. EST.
