West Virginia starting pitcher Derek Clark, along with shortstop JJ Wetherholt headlined WVU Baseball’s Big 12 Honors, which were announced on Monday.

Clark and Wetherholt were named All-Big 12 First Team selections, while Reed Chumley was named to the Second Team, and Aidan Major, Kyle West, and Sam White, were named as Honorable Mention selections.

Clark has been WVU’s most consistent starting pitcher this season, finishing the regular season with a 3.05 ERA, three complete games, and a 7-2 record in 11 games pitched. Wetherholt dealt with injuries for a large chunk of the season, but made his moments matter, hitting .375 with eight home runs, eight doubles, 26 runs scored, and 30 RBIs, in just 29 games played.

Chumley was in his first season with WVU, and led the team in home runs (15), and RBIs (45).

Aidan Major had an up and down 2024 regular season campaign, starting 12 games on the bump, but finished with a 5.75 ERA, striking out 74 batters in 61.0 innings pitched. West transferred from Division II baseball, slugging 12 home runs in 51 games played. White had a similar impact, leading all qualified WVU hitters in batting at .316, while he had 10 home runs and 39 RBIs.
