The statement then reads, “Jerry’s heart never left West Virginia.” The West family announces that Jerry’s legacy will live on and can be honored through gifts to West Virginia University. These include three scholarship funds, with one being dedicated to academics and another to basketball. There is also a fund for the WVU Children’s Hospital building.
