One of the country’s most electrifying players will travel to Las Vegas to represent WVU in the upcoming Big 12 Media Days. Garrett Greene is one of the four players chosen to make the trip to speak to the media. Sean Martin, Aubrey Burks and Wyatt Milum.

Garrett Greene has patiently had to wait his turn to lead the Mountaineers as the starting quarterback and last season he finally got that opportunity. His athleticism has always been on display in the few snaps he took as a freshman and sophomore backing up Jarret Doege and JT Daniels.

Despite missing most of the Backyard Brawl and the following game against Texas Tech due to injury, Greene still put together an impressive season statistically that only got better as the year went on.

The Tallahassee native finished the season with 2406 passing yards, 772 rushing yards, and 29 total touchdowns on the year. Greene was one of PFF’s highest graded QBs all season long and had one of the most accurate deep ball according to PFF as well.

It was a type of season that easily got fans excited for an encore with an even more electric offense next season.

Something that can raise fan’s excitement even more for next year is the obvious leader and worker Greene has become for the team as well. In the Spring he was one of five members of the team to be award the Iron Mountaineer award which goes to the most outstanding performers in WVU’s offseason strength and conditioning program.

Going into last season, Greene was one of the most vocal players about the feeling of disrespect of being picked to finish last in the Big 12. Now the team has been picked to finish 7th and the team still is not satisfied. That could be something to watch for when Greene takes the microphone this week in Las Vegas.

Big 12 Media Days will be July 9 and 10 in Las Vegas. WVU is set to have their designated podium time on Wednesday with Neal Brown taking the stand at 2:40 p.m.
