In a new era of college athletics and money, the NCAA is adding a lot of additional scholarships teams are allowed to award every season to their athletes.

The two biggest jumps in sports if football and baseball. the extra 20 scholarships awarded to football athletes per team will allow for basically entire roster to be put on scholarship. While there may be less and less walk-ons in the sport now, athletes putting in the same amount of time on top of their school work will have the opportunity to get a free education as well.

Many fans are super excited to see the jump in baseball’s numbers. Years prior, baseball teams were allowed to award 11.7 scholarships to their athletes on a 40-man roster. Now that number has almost tripled up to 34 scholarships per team, allowing coaches to recruit and bring in more talent with scholarship offers.

Some of the other making a jump in scholarships include basketball (13+2), softball (12+13), and volleyball (12+6).
