The senior quarterback fielded questions from the media earlier today, and took some time to speak about how he’s feeling.

Greene was asked during the press conference if he has taken advantage of the services provided by Dr. Sofía España Pérez. She has worked with the Mountaineers Athletic Department since August of 2021 as a clinical and sports behavioral health therapist.

“Me and her, we meet once a week,” Greene responded. “We meet every Tuesday afternoon… kind of just giving me tools to slow the game down, because obviously when bullets are flying and things can get crazy out there. So I think it’s important for you to find a way to kind of center yourself and ground yourself, to let your brain process information clearly.”

Greene continued by praising Pérez’s work with him. “I think she’s done a great job of allowing me to do that… as guys, you never really want to talk about your mental, but as a society nowadays I think it’s important that guys get the help they need to.”

Throughout the press conference, Greene also fielded questions about his relationships with his teammates and his mindset entering his senior season at West Virginia. When asked if he feels like a senior, Greene replied that he isn’t trying to think about it. “I’m trying to just come into work everyday to help this team win a Big 12 Championship. I’m sure it will hit me at some point, like Senior Day and things like that. But right now, I’m just trying to get to Dallas.”
