Wednesday, West Virginia quarterback Garrett Greene was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Preseason Watch List.
Every season the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award is given to the top upperclassmen quarterback in college football. On top of play on the field, the winner is determined by academic success, character and leadership.
Greene was one of 63 quarterbacks selected for the Preseason Watch List. He’s also been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year and Wuerffel Trophy preseason watch lists this summer.
Under center for the Mountaineers in 2023, Greene threw for 2,406 yards and 16 touchdowns in the air, while adding 772 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. With high expectations for West Virginia as a whole in 2024, Greene looks to be principal in their success and have a huge senior season.
