After another stunning performance on Monday against Saint Francis, WVU’s Sergio Ors Navarro has a total of five goals in just two regular season games this season, and the Sun Belt Conference is taking notice.
The Sun Belt Conference named Ors Navarro the season’s first Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. This marks the first time in five seasons at WVU that the midfielder has earned Player of the Week honors.
In 24 games last season, Ors Navarro totaled eight goals for the year, and just two games in, he is on pace to outdo that by over sevenfold. He also currently boasts a .455 shot percentage in 11 shots and a .545 SOG percentage in six attempts. Ors Navarro’s current career high in each are .186 and .529 respectively.
West Virginia will see the field once again on Friday at home against George Washington. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium and can be viewed on ESPN+.
