West Virginia came in at No. 24 in Koki Riley’s Week 2 AP Poll Ballot, the only vote they received.
Riley, representing LSU, was the only voter to include WVU in their top 25 heading into week two. In week one, West Virginia lost to No. 8 Penn State 34-12 in what was expected to be a much closer game, with a final spread of 7.5 favoring the Nittany Lions heading into the contest.
Riley had WVU at No. 23 in the preseason poll. Including Riley’s vote, the Mountaineers received a total of six votes in the AP Preseason Poll. The last time West Virginia was included in the AP Poll was the final week of the 2018 season at No. 20.
West Virginia plays host to FCS UAlbany in week two. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ESTvand the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
