The WVU Women’s Soccer team has quickly made a name for themselves once again under head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown.
After losing two of their first four games of the season on the road to ranked teams: Clemson and Penn State, the team has rattled off an undefeated stretch of six games without a loss. The only blemish during that time was a 1-1 draw with Liberty.
Not only has the team been dominant, but they’ve appeared almost unbeatable at home this season. In their seven games at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium this season, the team is 6-0-1 while only allowing three goals. The Mountaineers have been able to find the back of the net 16 times in those seven games.
West Virginia, who has consistently been a top team in the Big 12 conference under Izzo-Brown looks to be just that once again this season. With wins over Cincinnati, Kansas State, and Kansas, the Mountaineers are 3-0 to start conference play and in the driver’s seat heading into a key stretch of their season.
With eight games remaining in the season for WVU, five of those eight will have to be played on the road including the teams next two matchups against Big 12 newcomers Arizona State and Arizona.
The Mountaineers will look to continue their undefeated streak on the road at 10:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept 26 against Arizona State. The game can be viewed on ESPN+.
