Coming off a win over Kansas in their first Big 12 matchup, West Virginia sits at .500 while they’re on a bye.

With a lot of regular season left, it may be too early to start looking at Bowl Projections, but it still may be fascinating to do so. Last year, the Mountaineers defeated North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Under Neal Brown, WVU won the Liberty Bowl over Army in 2020 and lost the Guaranteed Rate Bowl to Minnesota in 2021. The following are three recent bowl projections for West Virginia while they recoup, recover and prepare for Oklahoma State next week.

David Kenyon, Bleacher Report (Sept. 24) — First Responder Bowl vs. Arizona State

Steven Lassan, Athlon Sports (Sept. 22) — Independence Bowl vs Washington

Brad Crawford, 247Sports (Sept. 22) — Boca Raton Bowl vs South Alabama
