The West Virginia Mountaineers sit at 4-4 this season (3-2 in conference) after a road win against Arizona last weekend.

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength and a tool used to predict future season outcomes.

Currently, WVU ranks No. 48 in the country, according to the FPI. The index gives the Mountaineers a 65.6% chance to win six games, which would make them bowl-eligible.

The FPI ranks the Kansas Jayhawks 36th in the nation, 12 spots higher than WVU, despite the Mountaineers defeating them earlier this season.

West Virginia will face Cincinnati (No. 38 in FPI) next week on the road following their bye.
