The West Virginia Mountaineers are expected to buy out of their road matchup against East Carolina that is scheduled to be played in the 2026 football season, 247sports reports.
WVU is expected to fill the open game as soon as possible and has stated that they will not be scheduling a road game to take its place. It will cost the University $300,000 to void the contract, however, the potential revenue created from a home game will most likely surpass the total spent to get out of the game.
