Former West Virginia cornerback Beanie Bishop notched his first two career interceptions off of four-time MVP and likely future hall of famer Aaron Rodgers in a 37-15 Pittsburgh Steelers win over the New York Jets.
After the game, Bishop mentioned that he wanted to get the two footballs that he kept signed by Rodgers and the gunslinger delivered. On Wednesday, Steelers beat writer for The Athletic, Mike DeFabo, shared a photo of the balls that were autographed and returned by Rodgers.
After a lone season at WVU, during which he was a consensus All-American and led the nation in passes defended, Bishop was not drafted but signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent. Since then, he has made the most of the opportunity, seeing game snaps as one of the team’s nickelbacks.
Bishop would record another interception in the Steelers’ very next game against the New York Giants. On the season, he has 25 total tackles (20 solo), five passes defended and half a sack to go along with his three interceptions.
