Former Mountaineer Beanie Bishop has come on strong in recent weeks, making a lot of noise with his play on the field.
Bill Barnwell, an ESPN staff writer gave his top three picks for every award in the league and featured on defensive rookie of the year was Bishop.
“Bishop is a feisty, fun player to watch in the middle of the field. He shows up as a tackler and against the run,” Barnwell wrote on ESPN.
Bishop has 25.0 total tackles, five pass breakups, and three interceptions through eight games this season. Two of Bishop’s interceptions came against Aaron Rodgers, and while Bishop’s smaller frame might make him an easier target at times, he’s played larger than himself this season.
