Despite underperforming in the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City, WVU Women’s Soccer’s season is not over yet.

Led by head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown, the Mountaineers will make their 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance against Kentucky, the fifth seed in the 16-team region. Izzo-Brown has been at the helm for all 23 of the program’s postseason showings.

Comprising of four All-Big 12 first and second team selections, the Mountaineers earned the third seed in the Big 12 Championship tournament but fell to sixth-seeded Kansas 1-0 before the Jayhawks went on to win the conference title.

Including West Virginia, seven Big 12 programs will appear in the tournament. Joining WVU will be Kansas, Oklahoma State, BYU, Colorado, Texas Tech, and TCU.

The Mountaineers will travel to Lexington, Kentucky for the match, which is set for 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 15.
