BYU, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia were announced as seven of the 64 teams selected to the 2024 NCAA DI Women’s Soccer Tournament, revealed by the NCAA Selection Committee on Monday.

Since the league’s first season in 1996, two or more Big 12 teams have received bids to the postseason event each year. This year’s seven selections are the second most from the Conference since eight made the field in 2003. The last tournaments that the Big 12 had five or more teams competing were 2018 and 2019 (6).

TCU (16-3-2) clinched the No. 5 seed and will host SFA (14-3-2) on Friday. The 2024 Big 12 regular season champs make their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in five seasons and the program’s eighth overall.

Coming off its College Cup appearance a season ago, seventh-seeded BYU (9-6-5) earned the right to host Santa Clara (12-3-4) Friday. The Cougars make their seventh consecutive appearance and 25th during the program’s 30-year history.

Texas Tech claimed the No. 8 seed after posting a 14-4-2 record during the 2024 campaign. The Red Raiders make their second consecutive appearance with a first-round match against LSU on Friday in Lubbock.

Colorado makes its first tournament appearance as a Big 12 team since 2008. The Buffaloes, one of three teams in the league’s current lineup who made last year’s field, head to Athens, Georgia to take on No. 7 seed Georgia. It marks the program’s 14th overall NCAA Tournament.

Kansas’ automatic bid marks its first selection to the NCAA Tournament since 2019 after claiming the 2024 Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship title under first-year head coach Nate Lie. The Jayhawks (13-5-4) begin their 10th overall appearance with a first-round contest on the road at No. 8 Saint Louis.

Oklahoma State returns to the postseason event for the first time since the 2020 season. The Cowgirls posted a 14-4-3 record this season ahead of the program’s 14th NCAA Tournament appearance. OSU’s first-round match will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday against the No. 2 seeded Arkansas.

West Virginia (12-5-2) rounded out the Conference’s bids as the Mountaineers were selected to compete at the fifth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats. WVU has earned 11 NCAA Tournament bids since joining the league in 2012 while Friday’s match marks the program’s 23rd overall appearance.

First round matches will be played Nov. 15.
