Trent MacLean, a 6-foot-9 forward in the class of 2025 officially signed with West Virginia on Thursday.

MacLean announced his commitment to WVU just a couple of days ago on Tuesday. The four-star recruit plays for SoCal Academy and is ranked as a top 150 national recruit by 247Sports.

“We are elated to welcome Trent to our Mountaineer family,” West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries said in a press release. “He possesses the rare combination of size and the ability to shoot the basketball with deep range that will fit perfectly with our style of play. Trent’s best basketball is still ahead of him, and we look forward to helping him reach his full potential on and off the basketball court.”

MacLean’s father Don, is the all-time leading scorer in Pac-12 history, notching over 2,600 points with UCLA. He went on to have a nine-year career in the NBA.

MacLean currently averages 16 points and seven rebounds per game.
