West Virginia has suffered injuries all season and will be without a few potential difference-makers for the rest of 2024.

On Monday, head coach Neal Brown listed four players, who were once starters, that will miss the Mountaineers last game against Texas Tech and the Bowl Game. The players are safety Aubrey Burks, cornerback Ayden Garnes, wide receiver Jaden Bray and wide receiver Jayden Bray.

Burks and Garnes, two members of a WVU secondary that has struggled all season, have been out multiple games. Burks is a senior and Garnes a redshirt junior who transferred from FCS Duquesne this offseason.

Bray has also been out several games. Brown felt optimistic about his return a couple of weeks ago, saying he could return for either the Baylor of UCF game, but Bray suffered a setback in his recovery and will now be out for the remainder of 2024.

Ray suffered a devastating leg injury in West Virginia’s loss to Baylor. He had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. Entering the game against Baylor, he was WVU’s leading receiver.
