The West Virginia men’s basketball team will face the Gonzaga Bulldogs, a perennial basketball powerhouse, in the “Battle 4 Atlantis” tournament today at 2:30 p.m.

Gonzaga enters the game ranked No. 3 in the nation with an unblemished 5-0 record.

The Bulldogs’ leading scorers are Graham Ike, who averages 14.6 points per game, and Khalif Battle, who contributes 14.4 points per game. Gonzaga already boasts quality wins this season over Big 12 opponents Baylor, then ranked No. 7, and Arizona State.

Historically, Gonzaga has dominated the matchup against West Virginia, winning all five previous meetings. The last game between the two teams came in 2020 during the “Jimmy V Classic,” when WVU fell by five points.

This matchup represents WVU’s biggest test of the early season. Mountaineer fans will get a first look at how the team, revamped with new faces, measures up against one of the nation’s toughest opponents.

Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPN.
