West Virginia will travel to Texas Tech in the final week of the 2024 regular season to take on the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech is 7-4 (5-3 in conference play) this season, coming off a high-scoring win against Oklahoma State. WVU is 6-5 (5-3 in conference play) coming off a win against UCF.
It will be the 14th all-time matchup between the two programs. The first matchup came in 1937, with the Mountaineers taking a 7-6 win in El Paso.
The two teams wouldn’t play again until West Virginia joined the Big 12 in 2012. The Red Raiders welcomed WVU to the Big 12 with wins in back-to-back seasons before the Mountaineers won five in a row.
Texas Tech flipped the script; however, it is going on a four-game winning streak that was snapped by WVU last season. The Mountaineers hold a slight advantage against Texas Tech with a 7-6 record, 6-6 in conference play, however.
In the last 10 matchups West Virginia is 10-4. They are tied at 3-3 on the road and 3-3 at home.
Saturday’s matchup kicks off at noon EST and will be televised on FS1.
WVU is coming off a win against UCF, not Baylor.
