Julien Horton signed his national letter of intent with WVU on Wednesday.
While West Virginia is currently without a head coach, so is North Carolina, where Horton had been committed to since June 27. Horton is from Abingdon, Maryland, and plays for Bel Air High School.
According to 247Sports, Abingdon is a three-star prospect, No. 24 recruit from Maryland and No. 56 safety recruit overall.
The 6-foot-0 cornerback also received offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pitt, Syracuse, and Vanderbilt.
