In a press conference following the firing of West Virginia Football head coach Neal Brown, athletic Director Wren Baker discussed plans for renovations to Milan Puskar Stadium and bringing in profits during the interim period.

“I keep talking about how we have to build more suites and club seats. We have the lowest number of premium seats in the Big 12,” said Baker.

Baker explained that not only do these seats allow fans something “shiny and new” but that big dollars will come in with the additions.

West Virginia ranks lower in the terms of budgets for travel expenses and other categories within the Big 12.

“The Big 12 historically had all of those Texas institutions in it. Those Texas institutions have money and they fund things really well,” said Baker.

Baker hopes West Virginia can catch up and eventually sit within the top three schools in terms of an athletic budget.

While the hunt continues for a new head coach, Baker said that during the interim there are really great plans set in place for the Rev share to give the Mountaineers the best chance to compete that they have had in quite some time.
