According to college football insider Pete Thamel’s sources, “West Virginia has completed in-person interviews for the school’s next football coach and school officials are expected to make a decision in the next 24-48 hours.”
WVU has been without a head coach since Neal Brown was let go on Dec. 1. Despite Brown’s firing, the Mountaineers had a solid 2025 signing class.
The transfer portal also opened on Monday, and a head coaching hire would help players make a decision, both coming and going. We’ve seen a lot of activity in the head coaching carousel in the last week, such as Purdue hiring former UNLV coach Barry Odom, who was once considered a candidate for WVU.
Now, Mountaineer fans, players, and staff are expected to know very soon who the next leader of the football program will be.
