Offensive coordinator and interim head coach Chad Scott shared his thoughts on the upcoming bowl game in a recent press conference. Scott said the team has been working hard and daily routine will not change leading to the team’s departure for Texas.
Scott was named the interim head coach of the Mountaineers following the firing of Neal Brown. He shared that most of the players have not experienced losing a coach and while it has been difficult, the team is ready to play.
“Everybody’s playing. That’s what’s been awesome,” said Scott. “We’ve had 100% in practice attendance.”
Now calling the plays, Scott’s role is vital for the upcoming matchup. He shared that the game plan will remain simple and will include ideas from other key coaches.
“It’s going to be a team effort. We are going to take everyone’s input and ideas and put them together and come up with the best game plan I got,” said Scott.
Scott explained routine is huge for the players as far as daily practice and in game play. The team has a routine that has been successful so far in terms of game approach and there are no plans to change it.
“As far as the normal things we do day by day and week by week, in regards to the game plan, that will be as routine for those guys as possible,” said Scott.
Scott will lead the team in the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl next Tuesday against Memphis.
