WVU has landed their biggest transfer thus far during the offseason in Texas A&M transfer QB Jaylen Henderson. It is Rich Rod’s first head turning move since being rehired as the Mountaineers’ head coach in early December.

Henderson out of high school was a three-star QB recruit that was rated as the 47th QB in the nation, and the 58th best player in the state of California. After deciding to go to Fresno State to start his career in 2021. Unable to ever find his footing and much playing time, Henderson transferred to Texas A&M after two seasons of being a Bulldog.

In the past two seasons at Texas A&M, Henderson played in four games, completing 53 of his 78 pass attempts for 715 yards and six touchdowns. He also threw two interceptions.

The passing game not the only thing that Henderson brings to the table however. The lefty QB also ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns while being an Aggie.

Henderson will join Nicco Marchiol, who announced his decision to stay with WVU, with two years of eligibility remaining.
