On Monday, Charlotte quarterback transfer Max Brown announced his commitment to WVU.
Brown, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound Tulsa, Oklahoma native, began his career at Florida in 2022. He redshirted that season before seeing some action with the Gators in 2023.
After the 2023 season, Brown transferred to Charlotte, where he started at the beginning of the 2024 season before losing his job. This past season, as a redshirt sophomore, Brown completed 43 passes on 93 attempts, throwing for 561 yards, six interceptions and three touchdowns, going 0-5 as a starter at Charlotte before being replaced.
With the announcement of his commitment, Brown becomes the second quarterback transfer to commit to WVU this offseason, joining Jaylen Henderson, formerly of Texas A&M. Brown will provide competition and depth for Henderson and Nicco Marchiol in the Mountaineers quarterback room in 2025. The former Gator and 49er will presumably be one of two right-handed scholarship quarterbacks on West Virginia’s roster, joining incoming freshman Scotty Fox.
Couldn’t hold the starting job at Charlotte? Why’s he coming to wvu?
