After a standout performance at Idaho State this season, senior receiver Jeff Weimer is moving up to the highest level of competition.

Weimer announced Friday that West Virginia would be where he will end his collegiate career, just nine days after announcing his offer from Rich Rodriguez.

The 2025 season will mark Weimer’s second time in the Football Bowl Subdivision, having spent a year at UNLV in 2022. He joined the Rebels after winning a junior college national championship with the City College of San Francisco. The following year, Weimer did not play collegiate football but returned to the field this past season with the Bengals.

With Idaho State, Weimer set himself apart from the rest, leading the team in total receiving yards with 1016 on 75 receptions across 12 games. On Oct. 5, Weimer caught 12 receptions for 236 yards and an 84-yard touchdown, which was Idaho State’s longest on record in roughly 15 years.

Weimer will first see action with West Virginia in its annual spring game, an event where he stood out at Idaho State’s equivalent in 2024. He is the fifth transfer recruit in WVU’s 2025 class.
