Former Mountaineer Max Broughton signed to play professional soccer with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the USL.

Broughton played in all 22 games of the 2024 season, starting 21. He led the West Virginia defense that only allowed an average of 1.05 goals and 3.04 shots on goal per game.

While Broughton was only a Mountaineer for two years, he led the team with most minutes played for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The Rawtenstall, England native received numerous honors and awards such as All Sun Belt First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District this past season.
