West Virginia edge rusher Sean Martin completed his first day of the NFL combine. He is trying to prove to teams why he deserves their draft pick.

Martin began the day with a great 40-yard dash time. He finished in 4.88 seconds, with his 10-yard split at 1.7 seconds. His athleticism was on point today, which is the part of his game scouts are intrigued in. He finished with an above-average 67 athleticism score.

Martin had a 28.5-inch vertical and a 9-foot-4-inch broad jump. He also completed the cone drill in 7.38 seconds. After day one, he finished with a 5.64 prospect grade and is still expected to slip out of the draft, but he helped himself with this showing.

Tomorrow is more important for Martin, who needs to prove his strength to NFL scouts. He will complete the bench press before getting his official combine grade. It will be interesting to see if his performance today and tomorrow will be able to elevate his draft stock.
