TOWSON, Md. (March 3, 2025) – The West Virginia University gymnastics team opens up the final month of the regular season with a mid-week quad meet at Towson on Tuesday, March 4. George Washington and Penn will join the Mountaineers and Tigers at TU Arena in Towson, Maryland. Competition is tabbed for 6 p.m. ET.
The meet will be streamed live on YouTube Live, while live stats from the meet are available at WVUsports.com.
Tuesday’s meet marks the first quad meet of the 2025 campaign for WVU, as it returns to non-conference action after completing the Big 12 portion of its schedule against No. 20 Arizona last week. The Mountaineers hold a winning record over all three opponents in the quad, including a 28-15 advantage over Towson, a 49-8 record over George Washington and a 13-1 lead against Penn. West Virginia competed against Towson and Penn last season, while it will face GW for the first time since 2022.
Additionally, the Mountaineers are set to travel to Towson, Md., for the first time since 2023.
Last time out, West Virginia dropped its home finale, falling 195.3-194.925 to Big 12 Conference newcomer No. 20 Arizona inside the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown on Feb. 28. The Mountaineers collected totals of 48.675 on vault, 48.825 on the uneven bars, 48.3 on balance beam and 49.125 on floor exercise.
In the final event standings, freshman Karleigh DiCello tied for first place on vault with a 9.825, just shy of her career high. Sophomore Amber Lowe earned the title on bars, tying her career best and setting a new season high with a 9.875. Senior Brooke Alban’s season-best 9.8 helped her finish tied for second place on bars, while sophomore Julia Brown finished in third place on beam (9.825). Senior Anna Leigh and freshman Riley Maness shared the win on floor with a pair of 9.9’s, which marked a new career high for Maness.
In this week’s Road to Nationals rankings, West Virginia ranks No. 48 nationally with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 194.735. WVU also ranks No. 50 on vault, No. 48 on bars, No. 54 on beam and No. 39 on floor. Individually, Leigh ranks No. 6 in the southeast region and in the Big 12 on floor with an NQS of 9.88. On beam, Brown ranks No. 21 regionally and No. 22 in the conference with a 9.8 NQS on the event. Freshman Karleigh DiCello ranks No. 22 in the league and No. 25 in the region on vault with a 9.785 NQS.
