WVU legend Miles McBride has slowly worked his way up the New York Knicks depth chart since being drafted in 2021. Last year he played a huge role in the Knicks’ Eastern Conference semifinal run, and this year he has been a crucial part of their rotation, leading to the third-best record in the Eastern Conference.

Last night in the New York Knicks game against the Sacramento Kings, McBride had one of his best games of the season. He finished with 21 points and seven rebounds while shooting 7-11 from the field (4-5 from three). The Knicks won by a score of 133-104.

McBride started the game 5-5 with 15 first-quarter points as the Knicks took a commanding 15-point lead and never looked back.

Most known for his defensive prowess, McBride has been turning heads with his offensive game and shooting percentages so far this season. He averages 9.2 points per game while shooting 41.3% from the field. He does all of this while guarding the opposing team’s best guard threat in the game.

After signing a three-year, 13 million-dollar deal in the offseason, McBride has had to elevate his game to earn his minutes. He has done this and more and is one of the best defensive players and bench scorers on a very talented New York Knicks team.

Expect more and more minutes for McBride, who has filled in for star Jalen Brunson, who went down with an ankle sprain three days ago. He is expected to miss two weeks, giving McBride a chance to show what he is capable of on this already loaded roster.

The Knicks’ next game will be against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
