After six seasons, Nick Malone is leaving Morgantown, but his football career will continue.
Malone earned a rookie mini-camp tryout for the Miami Dolphins this season, WVU Football announced Sunday. He has not signed a contract, but the offer gives Malone a chance at making the Dolphins’ final roster.

For six seasons, Malone has played a role in West Virginia’s offensive line, something that quickly grew to a staple of the Mountaineer brand under head coach Neal Brown.
Several of Malone’s fellow lineman, including Pittsburgh’s Zach Frazier and newly drafted Jaguars guard Wyatt Milum have quickly earned roles in the NFL, and he will look to join them through this lesser traveled path.
